Every man was once a boy. And every little boy has dreams, big dreams, dreams of being the hero, of beating the bad guys, of doing daring feats and rescuing the damsel in distress. Every little girl has dreams, too: of being rescued by her prince and swept up into a great adventure, knowing that she is the beauty.
But what happens to those dreams when we grow up? Walk into most churches, have a look around, and ask yourself: What is a Christian man? Without listening to what is said, look at what you find there. Most Christian men are . . . bored.
Wild at Heart – Discovering the Secret of a Man’s Soul
John Eldredge revises and updates his best-selling, renowned Christian classic, Wild at Heart, and in it invites men to recover their masculine heart, defined in the image of a passionate God. And he invites women to discover the secret of a man’s soul and to delight in the strength and wildness men were created to offer.
Eventually, “Morali nailed down all of the roles that he believed were simultaneously universally recognizable (at least to the American man) and embodied the macho, masculine ideals he felt typified that particular element of the gay scene. These were soldier, police officer, construction worker, cowboy, biker, Native American and sailor, some combination of which has served as the basis of the group ever since.”
Stand in the gap, guard the gate, a prophetic special forces soldier wearing the armor, knowing how to wield the weapon of the Word, marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit; all the while being broken bread and poured out wine – calling down fire from Heaven.
Much has been written on this subject. The purpose here is to collect a few thoughts on the matter.
2 Kings 1:13-15 “So the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and entreated him, ‘O man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty servants of yours, be precious in your sight. Look, fire came down from heaven and consumed the two former captains of fifty men with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in your sight.’ Then the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, ‘Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.”
Authority. Guard the Gate. Stand, Watch, Pray.
From John Sanford’s book Elijah Task: A Call To Today’s Prophets “The prophet stands not only in the power of Elijah, now a hidden prayer work, but in the spirit of Elijah, which is death to self-wish and aliveness to obedience in His Holy Spirit. They [prophets] are not manipulators, pulling strings behind the scenes. They are rather those who fight in the unseen against the real stringpullers, the devil, and the hidden forces of our own flesh. The prophets fight for freedom, that the inner man may be cleansed of obstructions for the working of the Holy Spirit.”
Clearing Obstructions. Jeremiah 31:3-4 “I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. Again I will build you and you shall be built.”
This is a quote from John G. Lake – a healing Evangelist in the early 20th century.
“Christianity is a strong man’s gospel. [and Women..and let me say something else..this is a topic for another discussion [refer to article: Godly Woman, Prophetess and Female Character] but God has a special place for a woman’s character and nature.] Christianity by the grace of God, is calculated to take the weak and fallen and erring and suffering and dying, and by applying the grace and power of God, through the soul of man, to the need of the individual, lift them up to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)
And finally to quote John Sanford again, – (Elijah Task, p. 130)
“.. only the cross can put a stop to this otherwise chain reaction of death. We must ask for help and thus convey its effect to every cycle of emotions, every consequence of human sin, every aspect of nature. Only as we respond to the urgency of God acting in and through the Holy Spirit to bring the filth of all men and earth to His Son’s cross does anything ever come to full resolution and thus to full stop.”
“To break every yoke. To let the oppressed go free. To satisfy the needs of the afflicted. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden.” Isaiah 58
Mankind created in the image of God was given dominion by God the Creator over the creation. Dismantling natural human male-female gender roles, corrupting the proper use of dominion, disrupts to the core that which is under submission. The trickle-down effect upon the animal kingdom is astonishing. That which men have dominion over is itself suffering the carnage of #genderconfusion.
#genderdestruction is a symbol of mankind’s slavery to creation.
Romans 8: 19-23 “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.”
Within the McConnell Arboretum and Botanical Gardens located over the Sundial Bridge across the Sacramento River from the Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a telling Earth Stone monolith representing the nature of creation worship. The union of dual-rising phalluses adorned with colorful inset images of the creation commissioned to honor homosexual union.
Genesis 1:26-27 “Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.’
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.”
Bethel’s Alabaster Prayer House, located high atop the City of Redding, and the prophetic intercessors within, lift prayers to the God of Heaven and Earth. It could be said that the Prayer House and the Pagan McConnell Arboretum Earth Stone represent the dual paradigms of the current debate about the role, identity and dominion of men and women created in the image of God, not only in Shasta County but throughout the nation.
1:20-23 “Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse; for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools; and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles.”
24-25 “Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”
26-27 “For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.”
28 – 32 “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done. They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, craftiness, they are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, rebellious toward parents, foolish, faithless, heartless ruthless. They know God’s decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die – yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them.”

“Lawrence ‘Bud’ Dillon commissioned the sculpture to honor his late partner Don Oestreicher. Telling [Redding artist Colleen Barry] about his former partner of 18 years and how they’d both loved art, Dillon said he wanted to create something to honor Oestreicher, something the community would enjoy.”
Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
